Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Summit Moving collects through summitmovinghouston.com, why we collect it, and who else sees it. It covers this website. It does not cover information you give us in person, on a phone call, or on paperwork you sign on moving day.

Information you give us
Almost everything we hold about you is something you typed into our booking form. If you have never filled it in, we hold nothing about you beyond the anonymous analytics described below.
When you request an estimate, the form asks for:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- The address you are moving from and the address you are moving to
- Your moving date
- The size of the load
- The size, number of storeys and property type at each address
- Whether you agree to receive text messages about your move
We ask for the property details because they determine the crew, truck and hours a move needs. They are what make an estimate an estimate rather than a guess.
What we never ask for
The booking form does not ask for a payment card, a bank account, a Social Security number or a date of birth. If a page claiming to be ours asks you for any of those, stop and call us on (713) 623-1444.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your approximate location, the pages you view, the type of device and browser you use, and the site that referred you. This is collected through Google Analytics and is not linked to your name, email or phone number.
How we use it
- To prepare and send you a moving estimate
- To contact you about that estimate and to arrange your move
- To schedule crew, trucks and equipment
- To keep records for our accounting, insurance and legal obligations
- To understand which pages people find useful and improve the site
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of outside services to run this website and our business. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use your information for their own purposes:
- SmartMoving — the software we use to quote, schedule and manage moves. Your booking form details are sent to it so a real estimate can be produced.
- Supabase — hosts the database your enquiry is stored in.
- Vercel — hosts this website and serves its pages.
- Resend — delivers the email that alerts our team that you have asked for an estimate.
- Google Analytics — tells us how many people visit which pages.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, where we need to establish or defend a legal claim, or to a successor if the business is sold or reorganised.
Text messages and calls
The booking form gives you the option to receive text messages, including automated ones, about the service you asked for. Ticking that box is entirely optional and is not a condition of getting an estimate. Message and data rates may apply.
You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP to any message, and you can ask us to stop calling by telling us on any call. Withdrawing consent does not cancel your estimate or your move; it only changes how we reach you.
Cookies and analytics
The public pages of this site use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and records a shortened version of your IP address, the pages you view and roughly where in the world you are. It does not receive your name, email or phone number.
Analytics runs only on the live site. Preview and staging versions do not load it at all.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking them does not affect anything else on the site.
Signing in to the staff area sets a session cookie. That cookie is strictly necessary for the staff area to work and is not used for advertising or tracking.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them to run the business and to meet our tax, accounting and insurance obligations. We do not delete them automatically, so if you want yours removed, ask us and we will.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Stop contacting you
Email robert@summitmovinghouston.com or call (713) 623-1444. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we may need to verify who you are first so that nobody else can make these requests about you. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
Keeping it safe
Information you send through this site travels over an encrypted connection. Access to the database is limited to Summit Moving staff who need it, and staff sign in with a one-time link sent to an approved email address rather than a shared password. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and keep the number of people and services with access as small as we can.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults arranging a move. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
